At 1623, with no. 3 engine and nose damaged by flak, Aircraft ;went into steep dive, pulled up, collided with a 95th BG B-17 42-29709, and went into another steep dive, during which it struck the tail of B-17 42-29709. Aircraft 42-29709 was able to make it back to Horham, but tail gunner did have to bail out (Johnie Buford).
